Full Time Program Graduation Diploma
8th – 12th Grades
For high school foreign language credit and LAHHS diploma
This program is ideal for students who want to earn high school foreign language credit while getting an edge on the competition for college admissions.
Students in this program attend classes one-to-two weekdays after school each week at a branch location. On Sundays, students from all branches come to classes at Emek Hebrew Academy (15365 Magnolia Blvd in Sherman Oaks) from 9:05 AM – 12:35 PM.
Bus transportation is available from Los Angeles, The San Fernando Valley, and Santa Clarita.
At each weekday branch location, LAHHS students enroll in two courses: Modern Hebrew Language and ancient Hebrew language through original text study. In the Hebrew classes, students are grouped by Hebrew proficiency level and not by the High School grade level. The text courses include titles such as In the Beginning, Exodus as it Was Meant to be Read, Leviticus and Beyond, In the Footsteps of the Prophets, and Scroll Around.
The levels of Hebrew are geared towards students from many different backgrounds including religious school, Jewish day school and students with native Israeli parents. A placement exercise is given to each new student before the school year begins to determine the most appropriate Hebrew level. Students with no prior Hebrew knowledge are also welcome to join L.A. Hebrew High.
